On Wednesday, Oakmere had a wonderful time at the Liverpool Philharmonic concert. The children loved having the opportunity to learn about famous composers and the different instruments in an orchestra. They all had big smiles on their faces as they listened to the live music and sang along! The Oakmere team were so proud of how beautifully the children all behaved.
Back in class, the children have been working hard. In maths, the children have been sequencing the days of the week and the months of the year. They have also begun to explore analogue clocks, learning to tell the time to the hour.
Our Literacy lessons have had a grammar focus this week. After reading the remaining pages of our vehicle text, the children have been exploring new vocabulary, verbs and conjunctions.
In science, the children have been discussing the weather and using rain gages, anemometers and thermometers to measure the wind, rain and temperature. Over the next few weeks, the children will continue to measure and discuss the (ever-changing!) weather.
During their history lesson this week, the children were exploring the Romans. They discovered what it would have been like to be apart of the Roman army and how people reacted when they first arrived to Britain.
In R.E., the children have continued to explore Islam. This week, they were learning about Mosques and comparing this to a church.
We hope you enjoy the sunshine over the weekend,
Miss Lewis and Mrs Garner.
